TrendAI originated from exploring the capabilities of Google's Gemini model, particularly its ability to analyze video content and dynamic websites that are traditionally difficult to scrape.
The project was inspired by challenges faced during marketing efforts for other applications, where identifying trending content on social media platforms proved time-consuming and inefficient. I hypothesized that an automated system could significantly streamline this process.
TrendAI works by autonomously scrolling through Instagram Reels and TikTok videos, capturing content data, and applying computer vision and natural language processing to categorize and analyze trends. This provides valuable insights for marketers seeking to align their content with current platform trends.
As part of this project, I built a web interface to visualize the scraped data and implemented MongoDB as the database solution (my first experience with this technology), which proved to be an effective choice for storing the unstructured data collected from social platforms.
The initial implementation successfully validated the hypothesis that Gemini could effectively scrape and analyze dynamic social media content. Future development plans include expanding the data manipulation capabilities and enhancing the analytical features.
